Capital Area .NET SharePoint Special Interest Group Meetup

When and When Not To Use the New SP2013 App Model with Alex Randall

This discussion based session is targeted for architects, decision makers, and developers who are familiar with custom solution development with Visual Studio. The new App Model for SharePoint 2013 is a major shift in how we develop certain kinds of solutions for SharePoint. This session will talk about when to use it and when not to use it. We will cover existing scenarios in SharePoint 2010 and how they map to SharePoint 2013 with the new App Model. Let's break through the marketing and get the facts in an easy understand way.

Alex Randall is a Microsoft employee and works as a SharePoint Senior Consultant for large federal government agencies and systems integrators. Alex is responsible for architecting, customizing, configuring, migrating, and advising customers on how to use SharePoint effectively in their organizations. He has been in the software development and IT fields for over 14 years. Before Alex caught the SharePoint bug in 2003, he also had several years of experience in creating custom solutions in Microsoft web technologies such as .NET, SQL Server, and before that, even classic ASP. Alex holds all four Microsoft SharePoint 2010 certifications (both development side and IT side) and a B.S. in Computer Science.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
