Cape Fear Natives are interested in discovering, exploring and protecting our native habitats and species. You don't have to be born here to have the Native spirit ... it's about having a curious mind, a sense of adventure, and a respect for nature's wonders. So transplants and actual natives are all welcome!
Our Meetup group's purpose is to learn about, enjoy and protect our natural environment. When we can, we will volunteer with local groups to help with conservation and education efforts. Many of these groups are short on staff and need volunteers. Some of our activities might include planting rain gardens, bagging oyster shells or staffing festival booths.
We will be advocates for the native species and habitats that rely on our community's efforts to protect and preserve them. We need to step up our awareness and our involvement so that we, not to mention future generations, can continue to enjoy our awesome coast.
