I Think I’ve Been Hacked

In this scenario based lab we will look at a machine that has been compromised.  We will discuss the process and tools used to look for signs of an intrusion, discuss what steps to take to recover a compromised system, and look at ways to prevent intrusions from taking place.

Awesome meetup! I had a great time meeting everyone. The presenters did an amazing job and have solid understanding of cyber security.

Missed the beginning of event but managed to catch the last 45 minutes via online link. Enjoyed what I heard but wished I was there in person. Maybe next time.

This was definitely a great introduction into what one might look for on a compromised system.

Hello will this be a hands on experience? Just curious either way I would like to attend. Thanks

Yes, our meetings are always hands on. We generally have a few slides and explain some security concepts and tools and follow that with lab exercises where you get to use the tools.

You can attend the next meeting on-line at the following URL for those that cannot make it in person:

    http://adobechats.adobeconnect.com/capsec2013mar/

David Epler and I will be presenting and are trying to make the meeting better for those attending on-line by showing as much as we can either in the slides or demonstrating on the presenter’s machine. We would like to make the labs available on-line, but that is not feasible due to licensing restrictions because we are using commercial software.
