Social Engineering and Physical Security

Social engineering is considered by many to be one of the greatest risks to information security, because people are the largest vulnerability in any network. The protection of our business environment is greatly enhanced when employees are made aware of possible threats, and then strategically educated on their role in maintaining a secure posture in their environment. This presentation, given by Krish Murti, will examine the main components of social engineering and how to combat it in the workplace.

The most effective approach to securing our physical business environment is to apply a defense-in-depth methodology, also known as a “layered defense model.” Dan Kube will give an interactive presentation on physical security, showing a number of scenarios where businesses use this model to protect their facilities.

Note: There will not be a lab for this meeting.

It was excellent. I like how we throw in both lab and lectures for variety. Needless to mention that the presenters were well grounded on the topics. I liked it very much. Thanks to all who made it happen.

We're always looking for presenters. Maybe you could do a presentation on malware. :-)
