Hike Shelving Rock

This is a fun hike on the East side of Lake George.  The views of Lake George from the top of Shelving Rock Mountain are incredible.  The total length of the hike is 3.4 miles.  The elevation of Shelving Rock Mtn is 1125 ft.  After the hike we can explore the beautiful shoreline around Log Bay, and anyone who wants can let thier dogs go for a swim.  Directions are as follows.   From the south take I87 to Ext 20.  Go east off the ramp, past the outlet malls.  Turn right on Rte 149.  Go approx 5.7 miles until you see Buttermilk Falls Road on the left.  You will also see The Black Rooster Stovery on the left.  We will meet at The Black Rooster.  Stay in your car at the Black Rooster.   From here we will take Buttermilk Falls Rd, which becomes unpaved after 3 miles, and becomes Sly Pond Rd.  At 8.7 miles the Rd becomes Shelving Rock Rd.  We will park on the side of the Rd at the trailhead.  Please keep your dogs on leash until the hike is under way.  If you have any questions or are going to be late please call me at 727-4321.

Sorry for such a late RSVP! Lulu and I and our friend Ellen are looking forward to this hike very much because we've been working way to hard!

Greg, sorry to miss this, but my recent car accident is preventing hiking at this time. Hope you have a great day with this fabulous weather expected to continue for the weekend. Should be lovely to see trees leafing out from the mountain side!
