How do you make new friends as an adult? Many of us are no longer interested in the bar scene and just want to meet new people and have a good time. Capital District Friends meet for dinners, happy hours, movies and local events in and around the Capital Region. Our goal is to meet new people and have a good time. Some of us are single, some are not; some have children, some do not. Most of us range in age from about 35-45. We really only have one rule: if you RSVP yes for an event you show up. If you RSVP yes for ANY event (even a free play or a trip to a local street fair) and do not show you WILL be marked as a no-show and no longer be allowed to sign up for any event with a waiting list. Dropping out of an event less than 24 hours before the start date/time also will result in you being recorded as a no-show. If you no-show 3 times you are removed from the group. Fees/dues: Each month I must pay $20 to Meetup to organize the group. To help me cover that, you are asked to donate $5 per person/year.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
