This is a group for : (1) women who are in the process of a separation or divorce; (2) women who are having difficulties with their spouse and unsure if the relationship can be saved or is headed towards a break-up; (3) women with children who experience ongoing difficulties with their ex over custody, visitation or child support; (4) women who have lost custody of their children; and (5) women who have already been through these experiences who are willing to share their stories with others about their mistakes and accomplishments and how they made it through it.

The purpose of the group is to provide support, knowledge and guidance, to assist women to move forward in their lives with confidence, along with some fun social activities mixed in and opportunities to make friendships with people who have already or are currently experiencing the same situation. Social events will be planned for just the "women of the group", as well as social events to "bring your kids and family"!

We will meet once a month in various locations throughout the Capital District. Each meet-up will include a guided discussion on a topic pertaining to divorce, family court and other topics common to newly single women. Think you spouse could benefit? Have them join the male counterpart group.

Professionals from a variety of fields will provide informative sessions on topics such as:

* divorce *legal separations *property division *appraisals *custody/visitation *child support *parenting plans/sharing holidays *supervised visitation * wills *re-establishing credit *bankruptcy *retirement/401(k) * buying/selling home *qualifying for mortgages *dating *co-parenting with a difficult ex *depression after a break-up *how break-up effects the kids * child care * filing taxes as newly single person *re-entering the work field * beauty and taking care of yourself * make a suggestion!
