UPDATE June 1st. If you have not contacted the Tour directly to give them your name, please do so by emailing Anne Moore at [masked]
If you decide to come last minute, I am sure if you go to the volunteer check in and tell them you are with our group, they will send you somewhere. Or if you are just going to watch, find most of us at the Start/Finish line.
Volunteers need to fill out a volunteer form which you can find by going to the top of our website and clicking on the tab labeled MORE, then FILES. You will find a copy of the form to print out.
Last year, I volunteered at the Tour de Cure but this year I am going to ride 10 miles AND then volunteer!
Last year they had us volunteering all over and this year they have already asked us to return. Some of us will be given a predetermined spot and others will act as a pool of volunteers as they need them throughout the event. I was the water girl cheerleader at the finish line and Brian was a traffic manager...just to name a couple jobs.
This was an amazing event....very festive with great music and catered food! It was unbelievable and inspiring to see thousands of people in one place for one cause.
I AM A DIABETIC! So now YOU know someone with it.
If you can't join the riding team then I would love to have you help us by volunteering. The earlier you sign up, the better your chances to pick a volunteer spot. I will be at the finish line again!
By making a donation or joining my/our team, you will be helping the Association provide community-based education programs, protect the rights of people with diabetes and fund critical research for a cure.
TO JOIN UP TO RIDE....Follow the link below and enter my team's name...BEANER'S BEANS and then you can choose to join the team or make a donation.

We are determined to reach our team goal, one rider at a time. So let's get in gear and ride to Stop Diabetes!
Meant every word. -) Hope your

It was a pleasure riding with such a friendly group and an honor to be on your team. Thanks for coordinating the whole thing. You're a good soul!

Thanks to all that participated in one way or the other. I am sure that you came away feeling like you were a part of something HUGE, rewarding and fun. As a diabetic, I felt very supported. Thank-you.

I had a great time! I was the girl at the finish line shouting at everyone to take a left to the check-in table and directing people who came in late. It was a wonderful and inspiring event! Hope you all stayed dry!

My husband, Bill, and I arrived at 5 am and became part of Corey's parking team. We worked steady until 10:45 am, and feel like we were needed--which was terrific. It's 1 pm and storming where we are now--thinking about what this might do in Saratoga.
June 2
Looking forward to it! Although I must say the ride home from the Atlantic Highlands, N J after a Yankee night game is daunting. Still that's how important this event is to me!
June 1
I've RSVPd but I'm not finding the form - can I fill it out when I arrive to volunteer?

A hybrid should be fine for ten miles. I did it on a mountain bike and it was not pretty, but doable. This year I do hope to have a bike that makes it less painful...hehe. No racing, Bernie...it's a go at your own pace. For those choosing to do the ten mile with me...I hope we ride together...that would equal casually slow!
