Bring sufficient food and water for a day's outing in a day pack or fanny pack with individual First Aid articles, a whistle, and extra clothing according to the season. All, after much discussion, due to the very low numbers and an extremely poor forecast, we are going to have to cancel this hike. A full refund will be issued.

Hope to see you on another CHC hike soon!

The weather forecast for Michaux State Forest is looking pretty wet. It's a 100% chance of rain between 11 AM and 1 PM Satuday, so its basically guaranteed that we'll be hiking in the rain. Please plan accordingly. Friday's forecast includes a wintry mix, so waterproof boots, gators, and rain gear are essentials for this hike. Temperatures in the 40s will feel colder. Don't forget to bring a change of clothes that you can leave on the bus, so that you have something dry to wear during the ride home.

    All--

Unfortunately, the weather forecast for the Chambersburg area has not improved, and now looks like 50 to 80% chance of rain for most of the hours we'd be hiking, but with temps in the high 40's-low 50's. We will post another update tomorrow, since things can change again, but please plan accordingly!

    All,

Mark has been monitoring the weather in the area of our hike and it looks like the forecast is improving for Saturday morning. The 60% chance of rain was for the early morning hours, going down to about 20% by 10:00 a.m.

We will post details as available (an hourly forecast for Sat. should be available later today).
