Come ride the our bus for day hike adventures to many beautiful area hiking locations! Experience the outdoors 52 weeks a year with the Capital Hiking Club, a non-profit hiking group in its 77th year, who welcomes the public to join us on all hikes. We specialize in hiking options that challenge all skill levels and fulfill the varied interests of our hikers. Saturday weekly hikes: Long hikes of 9-12 miles and shorter hikes of 5-9 miles plus social time with post-hike refreshments. The Club's bus picks up hikers from centrally-located 16th and I Streets in downtown DC, and continues on to pick-up stops in VA or MD (VA or MD route depends on the hike location) for most Saturday hikes. Occasional trailhead or carpool hikes are offered. We also sponsor Moonlight Hikes on the C&O Canal towpath and mid-week Urban Trailers walks during the months of March through November.
