Trying to find out what ski boots fit women with large calves

Hello Snow Lovers! I went to Whitetail last winter and rented ski boots, skis, etc. The woman at the desk told me that they had special boots that were European and were made so that they fit women with large calves. For the first time since I've been renting skis they were actually comfortable! Since then I've been trying to find out what manufacturer and model they were so I can possibly buy some. Later in the winter I went to Timberline and they never heard of boots like that so I went back to what I've experienced in the past - trying to ski even though the boots were way too tight and uncomfortable. Definitely not as much fun.

If anyone knows the manufacturer and model of boots that are more roomy in this area I would be grateful if you let me know!

Hope you all have a Happy and Healthy Holiday Season!

try head boots. many of their boots have clasps that extend so people with large calves can still ski in comfort. my wife and sister in law have these and love them

Hi Carol, you should get fitted for boots from a ski shop. I hear that Ski Center in DC and Pro Fit Ski and Boot Svc are reliable in the area.

Hi Rick,

Thanks so much! I think you're right! Have you ever been to Baltimore Ski Warehouse? I came across their website and they seel skis and boots for cheap. I'm thinking of going there to check it out.

Happy New Year!

Carol

Hi Phillip,

Thanks so much for the suggestion! I will ask to try some on when I go to the ski shop.

No, I haven't been there, but I heard of people picking up good bargains. However, it seems unlikely that you would get a good fitting there, but it may be 'good enough.'

I've bought beater skis at bmore ski warehouse. However, my boots are investment pieces and I went to Ski Center for a custom fitting. They're like slippers; I was very happy with the service at Ski Center

And PS, I have pretty big calves
