Happy Hour Games

Are you missing out on game nights because you work evenings? Do you have to get up early in the mornings, making it a pain to stay out late? Or do you just have nothing better to do on a weekday afternoon than to drink and play board games?

Then Happy Hour Games is for you!

We play a mix of games, including new classics (Ticket to Ride, Dominion, 7 Wonders), Euro games (Power Grid, Village), and maybe even a few shorter small games (Love Letter, Guillotine, Wits and Wagers).

Feel free to request any games from your event host's collection or bring your own game to share! Players of all experience levels are welcome, from board game veterans to first-timers!

Happy Hour at Six Arms runs from 3 PM to 6 PM - we'll try to wrap things up by 7 PM at the latest.

Hope to see you there!

Took me a few minutes to get here (thanks bus!), but I'm hanging out at a booth downstairs. See you guys soon!

Since there's only 2 of us signed up (and I'd be there around 4:30) should this meetup be canceled?

I was tenatively planning on going through with it in case some else showed up (which has happened when I have cancelled meetups in the past), but if you'd rather try again another time, I'm fine with that.

I'll be there around 4:30, hopefully in time for one game to finish so I can join the next. We'll see. :) I look forward to trying this schedule out.

So some updates as a I try to turn this into a thing...

First, I set a suggested date for the first Tuesday of the new year. I would try an earlier date, but December is going to be a bad time for me to try and organize this. And I imagine it would be better to wait until the holidays are over to start anyways.

Second, I picked out Six Arms as a suggested location. I haven't been there, but I have been to one of their other restaurants (McMenamins in Queen Anne) and it was good. They also have a good happy hour that overlaps with the time I wanted to try and organize this as well as what appears to be booths downstairs and tables upstairs that should good for games (I found evidence that another meetup group used them for game night in the past).

This comment continued in the first reply...

Both the time and date are open to change if there is a compelling reason. Any weekday after 2:30 PM from Monday to Thursday works for me. As for other location options (in case Six Arms is too crowded or not a good fit), we could possibly try Lost Lake (plenty of tables and one large booth, but I hear their happy hour is crowded) and Elysian Brewery (which should have plenty of space).

Any feedback about date, time, and location is welcome. I hope to see some folks for this!
