My martial arts background are mentioned below. Aside from the martial arts thing, I know a variety of different dances from different cultures. Some examples are salsa, Merengue, Bachata, some Punta, afro Brazilian, and afro Puerto Rican.
In martial arts: 10 years capoeira, 1year Karate, 1 year MMA training (Muay Thai, Jiu Jitsu, Boxing) I love practicing acrobatic moves at open gyms and beaches, and try to do it as much as possible. Dancing: Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, and Bomba.
I started training Capoeira while deployed in Iraq after seeing people practicing at the gym. I joined my first group while living in Germany, and I finally found my home with Capoeira Mandinga San Diego whom I've been training with ever since.
Its funny because I know a lot of people that can relate to this, but I first learned about Capoeira after watching "Only the Strong." 3 years later, I found my first class while deployed in Iraq. From that point on, I could not stay away from it!
I've been training Capoeira for about 10 years, and have done numerous performances and demonstrations involving a variety of different rhythms including Capoeira, Maculele, Maracatu, Samba, and a lot of other rhythms.
