Change for Next Meeting - Please Note:
At the suggestion of our own Tony Rose, CPR Guru & Environmental Director, the next meeting of the Staten Island Sport Divers will be at the Greenbelt Center located at Rockland and Brielle, where we will participate with the Protectors of the Pine Oak Woods at their annual meeting. Also attending will be Linda Dianto, Executive Director of the National Lighthouse Museum who is involved with the resurrection and restoration of Old Orchard Light. At the last meeting SISD members generously stepped up and donated $1000 to support the National Lighthouse Museum, headquartered at St George near the ferry. We are looking fwd to a guided tour when the Museum opens its doors later this year, and fundraising efforts are well underway, thanks to Linda.
tHANKS TO THE FOLLOWING DONORS: Marty Evansen, Frank Saulle, Martin King, Joe Schiavone, Kevin Athing, Tony Rose and whoever I forgot (please tell me so I can give proper credit in the next newsletter).
Dive season will soon be here, and John and Anita Ares will be giving us a talk on Hawaii at our May meeting, at which time we will return to the Pepperjack Grill, which will continue to be our home. John and Anita will show their incredible images, recently shown at Beneath the Sea, and they are always well received - Tony Rose himself stated at their last presentation "WE'RE NOT WORTHY!!!!!!!!".
See you Weds!
Captain Steve Lombardo, Pres.
