As a Memorial to Captain Joe "Zero" Terzuoli, a good friend and a great guy, the Staten Island Sport Divers have set up a Scholarship Fund to train divers who want to dive in the northeast but who may not be able to over come the initial expense.

Thanks again for the certification! I had a great time. By the way I'm 2 chapters into Shadow Divers and I can't put it down! I find it amusing how on the first dive of the U - boat guys are narced but make sure they grab a lobster before beginning an hour long decompression.

As far as the Captain Zero Scholarship Fund, we are still looking for people who want to scuba dive in the Northeastern United States but may not have the money to take a dive class.

In memory of Captain Joe "Zero" Terzuoli, a Diving Scholarship has been created for those who want to learn to dive but may not be able to afford it.

The application process is easy, just give us your name and email address and tell us why you want to learn to scuba dive in the Northeast and we will forward a formal application. Anybody applying under the age of 18 must have parental consent.

Alternatively, if you want to make a contribution to the Captain Zero Memorial Scholarship Fund, you can do that on this website as well, through PayPal.

This project is being administered as a Memorial to Captain Joe "Zero" Terzuoli through the Staten Island Sport Divers, a NYS non-profit Corporation, so if you have any questions please call SISD Club President Steve Lombardo at 718-720-8299 who will be happy to answer them.
