CarbonFreeDc is informative, has a diverse group of people within itself to meet, and is truly here to make a difference. Reducing your carbon footprint makes a big impact, person by person.

I think it is an important public dialogue that needs to be expanded. Maybe one way to encourage and take it to the next level would be to design some sort of pledge, citizen action commitment for people to really dig into to putting things to action. Or reach so many other residents who do not think about climate change. Either way, a very important forum that is good to see in the community.

We need a non-politics, non-religious, non-anything grassroots method to ensuring energy independance from foreign oil, gas, et al, and from domestic government energy control. This meetup group is a great start to meeting these needs. The group is beginning with the basics--education (knowledge and visual aids). This allows people (like me) to learn and apply to our own individual lives.
