Hello Carbonfree DC!
There is an anti-fracking rally taking place this weekend. Join in!
Ride the anti-Fracking trail to take a stand against pollution of our air and water by the natural gas industry.
Join a great coalition of environmental organizations riding the last leg of the Tour de Frack to the Mall on Saturday, July 28 at 11:30am at Peirce Mill. If you aren’t able to bike, you can join the rally at 2:00p at the West lawn of the Capitol. Here are the details (from the Sierra Club DC website):
For the last leg of the bike tour:
Tour de Frack Rolling Rally
Saturday, July 28, 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm (please arrive at 11:30a)
Rock Creek Park, The Pierce Mill, Tilden Street Northwest, Washington, DC.
On Saturday, July 28th, the Sierra Club is joining with dozens of other organizations in a coalition to Stop the Frack Attack. Thousands of people will rally in Washington, DC to move our country towards a more sustainable future where drilling for natural gas does not threaten our air and water.
After traveling 400 miles by bike to deliver the stories of people affected by fracking, cyclists from the Tour de Frack will be completing their journey on July 28, 2012 in Washington, DC. You are invited to join them for the final leg of their journey!
Please bring yourself and your bike and meet us at the Peirce Mill in Rock Creek Park at 12:00pm. We will then ride to the Stop the Frack Attack Rally at the Capitol end of the mall.
Hope to see you there! (I'll be there with folks from the Sierra Club DC at the rally at 2:00p)
