Greetings !! The primary focus of this Meet-up group is to Meet New People, Play Cards, & Socialize with People who are interested in playing Card based games and other games like Dominos. We also schedule Meet-ups for various Social events, such as Monthly Brunches, Dining Out, Movies, Pot Lucks, Live Theatre, Plays, Socials, Road Trips, etc. all around the Houston area.
We do expect that all attendees to a Meet-up that has an entry fee to pay their own way.
We encourage members to host Meet-ups as well. We are in the Humble TX area, so Meet-ups we schedule will typically be in this area. Other members may host Meet-ups in other areas, for any type of Venue, at any time.
You must be at least 21 yrs. or older to join this group.
Our favorite card game is Hand & Foot Canasta, we can teach others to play. We can also play and teach Whist, Spades, Hearts, Rummy, Contract Rummy, Oh Hell, Euchre, Pinochle, Cribbage, Mah Jongg, & Cards Against Humanity. Our group is Now learning to Play Bridge as well. We encourage others to teach any Card games that they enjoy. We also like to play other "non" Card games as well, such as Rummy Cube, Scrabble, and Dominoes.
Members are accepted carefully and we only want members who will be active in the group. This group is formed to actually meet people who sincerely want to meet new friends and form lasting friendships, with similar interests. This group is about fostering friendships, making connections, having fun, enjoying diversity, & trying new things.
We ask new members to add a photo of yourself for the safety of our members since we meet in private homes on occasions. This is Not negotiable. Without a profile picture of your face clearly shown, your membership will be declined. We value the quality of our members over quantity. If you cannot be an active part of this group, you can join us at a later time when your schedule allows you to be active. The Organizers have the right to be selective. As you are filling out the questionnaire, please include an introduction that will help us get to know who you are. Answers to other questions should be more than a simple yes and no, we are trying to get to know if you will be a Fit, so we need a little more information. General information about yourself, such as your interests, hobbies, what side of town you currently live is helpful during our review process of potential members.
Please RSVP regularly. You don't have to RSVP to every Event, but Your RSVP, Yes, No, or maybe, tells us that you are still out there. To keep your membership current and active, you should try to attend your first Meet-up within the first 4 weeks after joining. We like our members to attend at least one Meet-up every 4 to 6 weeks thereafter, this will help build friendships within the group. If we haven't seen you for a while, you may receive an e-mail from the organizer or co-organizers checking in to see if you are still with us. Other ways to stay in contact, are to contact the organizer or co- organizers, write on the message boards, and of course the big one, Attend a Meet-Up !
We also frown upon "No Shows" to Events, it's as simple as changing Your RSVP from "Yes" to "No" If you're unable to attend.
$10.00 annual membership fee is required to be a member of this group. This fee is to be paid upon your second Meet-up. This fee helps pay for the cost of maintaining the Meet-up website, encourage more engaged members, purchase supplies and equipment used at the Meet-up.
