Learn Welsh? / Dysgu Cymraeg?

Hey everyone, Let's have fun learning the language of  Wales !,  or "Cymraeg" as its known in Welsh.

As a person who's been learning for a few years, I will share my knowledge of the 'native lingo' with you & we'll all help each other learn the language.    We'll take it a step at a time.  What I propose is that we begin with a few "taster sessions" (2 or 3 perhaps?) & if you're happy to continue further with the classes - great, we'll do that !

The suggested plan is that we meet up  in a relaxed environment - & Central Library is my choice of location - as it will be quiet enough for us to speak to (& hear) each other.  We can start with some basics & just take things at a leisurely & enjoyable pace.  Also, Saturday afternoon is suggested - it will probably be better, as you may wish to drink & be merry on a Saturday night - rather than be  having an informal Welsh class !

I'll have to change the previous day / date which Kirsty put up - sorry - because I will be unavailable.  The alternative suggested date & time is the weekend after -8th of March - @ 3 PM,   ...        *I am flexible with the time & date, and happy to do what's best for you all.  There is rugby on this day -but no game in Cardiff - so Wales will NOT be playing, & therefore it shouldn't be rammed with rugby fans !

This event will be fun & enjoyable - so why not come along & "dysgu Cymraeg" !!!! (that means "learn Welsh")

Look forward to seeing you,

Jon   :-)

Please can you confirm if you're able to make this date & time by RSVP'ing again - just so I know who'll be going, & who is unable to go. *If you have any preferred alternative dates, let me know - or if you simply decide not to go, please "un"rsvp, so those on the waiting list can book on. Thanks very much, J

Hey guys, I'm taking on the challenge of hosting this event - so it's still going ahead! Please note the new date, time ... & place. Hope you can make it. Cheers!

With almost no Internet access and plenty of on going commitments at the moment I don't think I'm going to be able to host this. If someone else would like to take over, please feel welcome to.

Dw i'n byw yng Nghymru (I think). Love that there's a waiting list for this meetup. My Welsh is not great despite spending three years in North Wales but I'll happily join in if a space becomes available.

I'd be interested and will come along if I can. Have made several false starts at learning Welsh!

How could I resist this? - as I am currently learning Welsh & going to classes - this will be a great opportunity to learn more & practice.
Cheers Kirsty for putting up this meetup!

Any days that are particularly good or bad for you? (Don't worry if it's too far in advance to know yet lol)

Can’t do Tuesday or Thursday – as that’s when my lessons are, don’t worry about making the date work for me though :)

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
