Hi there, I am looking for a career change or possibly a sideways step in Switzerland. I'm new to the Swiss job market place but believe the economy is strong here and that there are good career prospects for nationals coming back home.
I come from a background of the British Army, plus sales and management Recruitment and for the past 10 years I have worked in the commercial and industrial electrical industry as an Engineer, Commissioner and Forman. As there has been a chronic downturn in the UK building market I have decided to come to Switzerland, learn the language and utilise my life time skills to pursue a Technically driven solution sell role. My choice of company is such that I can travel internationally and present to different cultures and environments a technical solution package.
My main draw back I think may be the language, market to focus on and getting that recognition so I can utilise this skills I possess.
Hi, Nick. Welcome to Switzerland! Not sure if the Hash is as hard-core as you might be looking for if you are in to some serious training, but it's certainly a way to meet an interesting, if somewhat eccentric crowd. You will find that there is at least equal emphasis on beer as there is on running - would be good to see you at a Zürich Hash so that you can make up your own mind. Thursday trails run about 6-7km, longer if you are fast to the checkpoints and have to find trail. See you soon.
