Career Transitions Forum (CTF) serves those looking for employment in management and other professional positions in the Triangle. New to Wake Tech HRD in January 2016, the highly regarded program has grown from a career transition support group founded in 2008 that has served thousands of participants, providing presentations, networking and counseling aimed at helping unemployed and underemployed individuals gain the job searching skills necessary in today’s complex and competitive marketplace. Presenters have included representatives of major Triangle companies, leading staffing and search firms and other business professionals.
CTF meets from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Thursdays at Trinity Baptist Church, 4815 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, in the Fellowship Hall. The group is moderated by Gail McCowan, a Wake Tech instructor and career coach, who previously worked with GE and IBM. Other Wake Tech faculty and volunteer advisors also will be involved.
CTF falls under Wake Tech’s Human Resource Development (HRD) department, which provides fee waived job skills training for individuals who are unemployed, underemployed or facing a pending layoff. For more information, visit Wake Tech HRD’s CTF page by clicking the link in the blue box at hrd.waketech.edu or contact the HRD office at (919) 532-5696. In the event of inclement weather, follow announcements for closing of Wake County Public Schools, or check www.waketech.edu.
Note: You must attend at least one Raleigh meeting to join this group.
