Where are you getting stuck in your job search?

Wish you knew more people in your "network" of contacts, but don't know how to start?

Are you on LinkedIn, but haven't a clue what that really means or what to do with your account?

Are you sending out resumes but not getting interviews?

Are you going on interviews but not closing the deal?

Bring the questions you have about your search to learn from my answers (and group input) to answer other job seekers' challenges.

Very informative. Thank you. Today I got an email response from a job I applied to on Craigslist. They want to do an online interview. They mentioned I would be working from home which is strange because the job post mentioned receptionist. I'm a bit leary of this one. If I decide to respond, I will ask them to tell me about their company. I don't think I'll apply to any more Craigslist jobs.

The thing to remember with Craigslist jobs is that in Fairfield County, it only costs employers $25 to post an ad, which, if the salary point isn't that high, or the job is more basic, is a better option than other sites which charge $150+. There are many companies that have their customer service calls handled by people at home versus having the overhead of huge call centers. Always ask for more information on the company and do research on LinkedIn to find others who have worked there, etc. There's a lot you can do to quickly verify their validity versus not applying to the position at all.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
