Run Crowders to get in shape this year. Choose from 6 to 8 or more miles with or without a mountain climb. The 8 mile run is no drop. We will start at the Main Visitor's Center. Go out on Crowders Trail, Backside Trail and then take Tower Trail up the Mountain. Return to Crowders Trail and back to the Visitor's Center for a base run of a little more than 8 miles. If you can run ten road miles you should be able to complete the base run.
This run has a lot of options.
Option One: If you are looking for a shorter run you can start with us and run with us 2.8 miles out on Crowders Trail, turn around and come back on your own for a total of 5.6 miles. If you can run 6 road miles, you should be able to complete this run.
Option Two: Work up to this route by running out the 2.8 with us and then walking up the stairs to the top and back down once, twice or more and wait for us on the bench by the intersection to run back with us. This would give you about 6 miles plus the elevation of the stairs.
Option Three: If you want more mileage, enjoy company for the first 8 miles while you warm up and then head out on your own for the Pinnacle Trail onto the Ridgeline Trail to Boulders Access and back for about 22 miles. Of course you can keep going all the way to Kings Mt. if you want to do a marathon or an ultra.
