Becoming our true potential - Shantideva's Guide

We'll be studying Shantideva's Guide to the Bodhisattva's way of life and specifically the chapter on Guarding Alertness (sometimes called Mindfulness).  Mindfulness is the fundamental quality we need to cultivate to tame our minds.  As Shantideva says

Whatever has been learned, contemplated and meditated upon

By those whose minds lack alertness,

Just like water in a leaking vase,

Will not be retained in their memory.

This book follows in the great tradition of books that are designed to make Buddhism accessible and relevant to ordinary life.  It is one of the seminal texts in Buddhism and is one that H.H. the Dalai Lama said gave him the most benefit.  It is as relevant today as it was when it was written in the 8th cent.

If you want a copy of the book, here's an Amazon link:[masked]/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=[masked]&sr=8-9&keywords=shantideva

I hope you will join us.

This will be a multi-week class.  You can join at any time (don't be afraid!).  We'll do our normal meditation session followed by teaching and discussion.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
