Introduction

Long time BCHW member and avid trail rider. We have 5 horses and I ride three of them. 2 Belgian mares and a spotted draft cross. Since the cross is shorter she is my favorite:)

Tell us about your trail horse

Sarge QH & Lady Belgian mare retired, Duchess, baby of lady, is very tall and a nice ride, Princess full sister to Lady is a bull dozer, ridden by friends & myself and Miss Minnie a spotted draft cross my main girl.

Where do you like to ride?

Mainly ride at Bracken and Victoria portions of Pilchuck Tree Farm and the Morgan Club portion. Some times up at HarryO.

Are you a current member with BCHW "Back Country Horsemen of Washington"?

Yes:) I carry pruners and clip or saw as I ride.

Hi Penny! Good to meet you at the trail work party on Saturday. You won't believe what happened afterwards though . . . I went home and went down to the barn to feed, and while I was bent over filling the cat food bowl, my husband accidentally dropped a bale of hay (80lbs.) on me!! OUCH!! I'm lucky it hit the 'meaty' part of my lower back and not across my spine or I would probably be lying in a hospital bed right now. As it is, I'm pretty sore and not riding until better. :-(

Thanks for the greeting! I love drafts too. hey we just got a new one this weekend too. We now have a nice Percheron/Appaloosa cross. Got to love those drafty types! Thanks for saying hi!

It was nice having breakfast with you & Garry & really looking forward to better trail riding weather which I know Garry will keep an eye on for us. Maybe in late spring we will have to take a road trip to Chewela. I know I mispelled but you know what I mean.

If you enjoy horses, mules and the outdoors then we’d like to have you come visit us. We are a local group of great people who enjoy trail riding, campouts, potlucks, trail building and maintenance, monthly meetings and socializing.

As a chapter of Back Country Horsemen of Washington (BCHW) and Back Country Horsemen of America (BCHA) our goal is to ensure that there are continued recreational opportunities on public lands.

As a member of this website, you are not required to become a DUES PAID member of the Cascade Horse Club Chapter of BCHW; however, we encourage you to support the local trails and our mission by becoming a member of our Chapter. As a DUES PAID member, you are able to join us on all the rides and events hosted by our club, you will also receive our monthly newsletter and get on our email list for immediate updates to what is going on with the club. As a DUES PAID member, your money is used to help support our mission. Members of the WEBSITE ONLY are welcome to join us on many of our rides and events, however we do reserve some events for DUES PAID members only, as a Thank You for your continued support. Anyone is welcome to attend our meetings, we meet the second Tuesday of each month at the Lake Stevens Community Center at 7pm, unless otherwise noted on the calendar.

Cascade Horse Club has been a club for over 50 years, this website is a tool we utilize to keep our members informed and updated, providing quick and easy access to our calendar and other riders in the community!
