Technique and Post-processing 27 Open Discussion

Lets have an open discussion meeting. Bring any shooting or processing questions you might have and we'll see if someone can help. There are lots of confusing things about cameras and photography so don't be shy. I know I'm always asking "Now why did it do that"?  Feel free to bring laptops or tablets to show what you have questions about.

Or tell us about a useful trick you have found.

Or bring bring before-and-afters and show us what you did. This will be a very informal meeting.

NOTE: THIS IS NOT THE ISSAQUAH LIBRARY. Check the address on Google maps.

I have to change my RSVP to a no at this late time. I see there is a waiting list. Is there a way to let members of the group know so somebody else can drop in?

    Hi Carl,
Depending on what you are wanting to do luminosity masks may be of use. They aren't much good though if you are trying to extract a piece of an image. Anyway bring your question to a meeting, maybe someone will have the answer.

Is anybody else in the group interested in figuring out how to create accurate masks with Photoshop? I've read a bit about it and watched a few tutorials on Youtube but the finer points still elude me. I know it can't be black magic... there has to be a better approach to learning how to do it well.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
