Our assignment is "lines". It won't be hard to find find lines, but the challenge is make one or more lines significant elements of the image. To give you some ideas, here is a link to a website which has several links discussing the use of lines in composition. (shotaddict.com/wordpress/2006/11/16/1773.html)
I'm looking forward to seeing the great images you folks create.
Due to some unforeseen issues I won't be able to attend the Lines meeting on Sep 23. However Julia Brown has kindly agreed to host the meeting. She won't have the monitor we've been using so we are going to try a different approach.
We will upload our five photos to the "Discussion for Lines" album on the Cascadia meetup site before the meeting. At the meeting we will view the photos directly from the Cascadia meetup site. So if you have a laptop with wireless capability, please bring it to the meeting. It is quite easy to log into the library system, The advantage of this approach is that you will be able to see each image, up close on your laptop. It will be harder to coordinate things so that everyone is on the same image.
To upload your photos, go to the Cascadia Photography Group website and click on Photos. When the photo album page appears click on the small blue "Upload photos" text. When the Upload photos to... window comes up select 'Discussion for "Lines (Sep 23,2010' and click Add Photos. A dialog box comes up that lets you select photos on your computer. You can try to upload all five at once, but I found things worked better one at a time. The upload software is a little flaky. you can upload your full size images as long as they are jpgs and less than 10 megabytes each.
I hope this all works OK for you and I'll see you at our October meetings, which I'll schedule soon.
