Announcing a new Meetup for Cascadia Photography Group!
What: Composition, Composition, Composition
When: Thursday, February 18, 2010 7:00 PM
Redmond Regional Library
15990 N.E. 85th Meeting Room 2
Redmond, WA 98052
This assignment is all about controlling composition. For our 5 assignment pictures we will consciously use, or intentionally break, the "rules" of composition. The subjects can be whatever you want. But you must plan your images to present the subject or topic in the best way to accomplish your photographic intent. Also be ready to describe what your intent was, and what rules you used or broke to illustrate that intent. And don't worry if you don't get it perfect - we often learn more from mistakes than successes.
If you are a little rusty on the "rules" (which are better thought of as guidelines) here are a couple of web sites that may be helpful. Bob Johnson, a local photographer, has a nice series of short essays on composition here ( http://www.earthboundlight.com/phototips/what-do-you-want-to-say.html
). There are a whole collection of articles on photo composition here ( http://photoinf.com/
See you at the meeting.
