Seems we have permanently moved this Meetup to Chinese Village. Chinese Village is great to us. They provide a big banquet room just for us, the food is good, the venue is convenient for people who drive (free parking, easy to find) and for those who do Trimet (take Max to the 82nd Ave. stop and take the bus south on 82nd a few blocks). This Meetup is meant to be a networking opportunity to meet other Pagans, Witches and Goddess worshippers. It is not a class; there is never an agenda or anything particularly structured. This doesn't mean you can't learn anything at a Meetup. Ask any question you want. There are many very experienced people who are regulars, we usually enjoy answering questions. Hope to see you at Chinese Village. This is a great opportunity to create community. I think we'll be discussing our Pagan-and-not-so-Pag an holiday traditions at this Meetup, and maybe how to sneak a few Pagan traditions into otherwise secular or Christian family traditions. (apart from Yule trees, celebrating the birth of the sun God, giving gifts, feasting, etc . . . which we managed to sneak in a few years ago ...ahem). Where does the Goddess fit in with Yule and Christmas? Yes, it's the night before Thanksgiving ... take a break and let Chinese Village cook for you.

Sad news, folks. The Guiding Tree is closing. They have been generously providing space for our Meetups for the past year or so, but since they're closing, they can do so no longer. I hope they'll continue to have an online presence, but I will sure miss their wonderful store. We'll be moving this Meetup, at least temporarily, to our New "old standby" Chinese Village. Back to the Guiding Tree this month -- if it turns out to be really hot again, we might move back to the Chinese Village restaurant. * * * * * * * * * Hal, the owner of the Guiding Tree, at 4831 SE Division Street, has generously opened up the meeting room for us on the 4th Tuesday of every month. The Guiding Tree is a wonderful Pagan shop, but not a coffee shop, and there will be no drinks or crunchies and munchies there, but there are coffee shops and restaurants near The Guiding Tree that can provide food and we can take it into the Meetup with us. Hal is donating this space to us (he normally rents it for $10/hr) as a benefit to the Pagan community, so please do check out his wonderful Pagan store before the Meetup. Support your local Pagan shop. This Meetup is meant to be a networking opportunity to meet other Pagans, Witches and Goddess worshippers. NOTICE!! Change of location for July Meetup. Due to the heat, I don't think the great room at the Guiding Tree is going to work for us this month. I'm moving July's Meetup to the air-conditioned, (on bus lines and with lots of free parking) Chinese Village at the corner of SE 82nd and Washington (between Stark and Washington). Sorry to do this last minute change, but we need the air conditioning. There is good, reasonably-priced food at Chinese Village, which they will make without MSG if requested. We've also filled up our quota of people for the Guiding Tree space, so I will now open up the RSVPs to reflect the added space at the Chinese Village. Same time, same day, just a new place for this meetup this month. * * * * * * * * * Hal, the owner of the Guiding Tree, at 4831 SE Division Street, has generously opened up the meeting room for us on the 4th Tuesday of every month. Jay Greenman, the owner of the Guiding Tree (formerly The Goddess Gallery), now at its new location at 4831 SE Division Street has agreed to open up his meeting room for us on the 4th Tuesday of every month. They will have juices and teas to purchase, but it is not a restaurant of any sort. Jay says there are coffee shops on either side of The Guiding Tree that can provide food and we can take it into the Meetup with us. Jay is donating this space to us (he normally rents it for $10/hr) as a benefit to the Pagan community, so please do check out his wonderful Pagan store before the Meetup, and buy his juice and tea. This will be our new meetup space, as long as it works well for us (we may have too many people). The Fireside was great for many years, but they no longer make any provision for us, so we must find a new Meetup spot. Hope to see you at The Guiding Tree.
