I'm happy to announce our first Cassandra Paris Meetup sponsored by Yakaz and DataStax!
For the first time, we will meet together and exchange our Cassandra experience, ask questions to each other and have some fun.
There will be two presentations at this event: The first by Sylvain Lebresne, Apache Cassandra Committer and Software Engineer at DataStax, about the upcoming features of Cassandra 2.0. The second will be a presentation by Fabien Rousseau, Software Engineer at Yakaz, about the Cassandra/Yakaz use case and his experiences with Apache Cassandra.

Sylvain Lebresne, Apache Cassandra Committer and Software Engineer at DataStax , will be giving an introduction to some of the new features in the upcoming 2.0 release of Cassandra. Come by and learn about the exciting work the Cassandra dev team has been doing. Including:

• Triggers (Experimental)
• CQL Cursors
Fabien Rousseau, Software Engineer at Yakaz will be presenting on the Cassandra/Yakaz use case and his experiences with Apache Cassandra.
About Fabien Rousseau
Fabien is a Software Engineer at Yakaz. He is working on multiple projects at Yakaz including a storage layer handling business logic such as user profiles and messages, on top of cassandra.
About Sylvain Lebresne
Sylvain works at DataStax on the Apache Cassandra project for which he is a core contributor, committer and PMC member. He has, amongst other things, played a prominent role in the development of CQL3 and its binary protocol. In a former life, he obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Paris 7's University.
