Store JSON in Cassandra the Hard Way

For this meetup we are excited to be joined by Josh Dzielak, VP of Engineering at Keen IO!

What You'll Learn At This Meetup

Josh designed and built the distributed event data backend that powers Keen IO's real-time analytics API. The system, based on Storm and Cassandra, is capable of running ad-hoc queries over billions of JSON events in seconds. In this talk, Josh will describe the data model that makes this possible and contrast it with a few that didn't work out. The talk will conclude with a few lessons learned from running Storm and Cassandra in production for over 9 months.

About Josh Dzielak

Josh Dzielak is a passionate engineer & entrepreneur. At Keen IO Josh hacks on distributed systems, open source libraries, company building, and everything in between. Before Keen, Josh was a Principal Engineer at Disney and helped create the company that got him there. Outside of work Josh enjoys writing, speaking, and finding great new beer and music spots in San Francisco.

* A big thank you to the Keen IO team for hosting and co-sponsoring this meetup!

Not able to make it to the meet up in SF from the south bay. Can someone please share the slides if possible. Would like to get more insights into storing JSON the right way in C*. Thanks.
