I taught sailing at Long Beach City College on Coronado 15's and 30 foot Shields collegiate racing boat. At Marina Sailing for a summer I inspected boats after charter, taught sailing and checked out charter skippers on Cataline 27, 28, 30, 34, 36, 42, Columbia 22, 28, Ericson 27, 35, Hunter 30 and boats I forget. Have sailed some in a few races including crewing Newport to Ensinada. I thought instructors made sailing lessons more difficult than necessary with my knowledge of semantics and simplified the lessons to be easy to understand. My sailing goal is to buy a sailboat to go cruising in. After reading Yankee Sails Across Europe I want to explore some of the 3,000 miles of European navigation rivers and canals. This may require a monohull to be narrow to fit all older canals so an Irwin 38 may be selected. But I love the speed possible in multihulls. Some boats can do 20 knnots without being 80 feet long. Id love to be on a 100' plus boat doing 30 knots.
I'd like to meet people, talk and have fun together. And sometimes offer courses on anchoring locally at Catalina, Santa Cruz Island or other islands. I prefer sailing to Santa Cruz in summer to avoid the zoo of Catalina. But found anchoring at Catalina Monday-Sat or Sunday can be nice.
Hello, I love being outdoors and taught sailing for 3 years in college and joined the first sailboat charter club in Marnia del Rey. Taught sailing professionally. I love to leave the dock & anchor for brunch so we can enjoy the view then go sailing.
