"My Paddle to the Sea" discussion with author Dr. John Lane

Here's an event of interest hosted by the Katawba Valley Land Trust:

"Dr. John Lane, author and Associate Professor of English and Environmental Studies at Wofford College. John will discuss his recent book, Paddle to the Sea, a book-length narrative about important Southeastern water issues framed by a kayak trip from his backyard in the South Carolina Piedmont, 200 miles to the Atlantic Ocean through the Broad/Congaree/Santee river basin."

Several of us have read the book and found it to be a good read. Should be interesting and it's free! Details at: http://www.kvlt.us/events/event/dr-john-lane/

Very nice way to spend a Thursday evening. I think a paddle like this is something many of us would enjoy. John talked about an Enoree paddle. That is also something I am looking at. Maybe in the spring when there is good water.
Andy... thank you again for the pumpkin pie. Already half gone.

Good to see pictures of the characters and scenes described in the book. Surprised to learn some things about his journey not mentioned in the book.

Read the book and it was great. Gave some in depth history of some of the stretches of water we've done. Unfortunately I won't be able to attend this event.
