The Plan: We will meet at the Virginia Beach Central Library at 11 am. We will then drive to Northwest River Park where we will meet Kevin & Ranger Paul from the Park who will serve as our tour guides for the day. We will spend about 2 hours paddling & exploring the Northwest River. Both Kevin & Paul are full of information on the wildlife, flora & fauna of the area. We should return from paddling at about 2 pm. For those who wish there is an extremely good Mexican resturant not far from the park and we could visit there for a late lunch.
Because of the nature of this event it will be limited to the first 15 participants. Please do not sign up unless you are sure you will be able to attend.
The Cost: Per person is $11 payable to the park (in cash) at the time of the event. This includes your boat rental, life jacket, paddles & our two wonderful guides.
Dogs/Children: Are better left at home for this event. The park's policy is no one under the age of 18 may rent boats. Therefore, no one under the age of 18 will be allowed at this event.
The Park (as stolen from their website
): Located on the banks of the Northwest River in Southeastern Chesapeake, VA, this 763 acre park is the perfect blend of natural beauty and recreational activities. Four time winner of "Best of Chesapeake", this gem of Chesapeake Parks and Recreation has something to offer everyone.
