Norfolk Botanical Garden, a premier horticulture attraction located in the heart of the Hampton Roads, is just 15 minutes from Virginia Beach and 55 minutes from Williamsburg, Virginia. The Garden represents an oasis of more than 30 distinctly themed gardens encompassing 155 breath-taking acres. Bordered on three sides by the picturesque beauty of Lake Whitehurst, the Garden brilliantly features some of the East Coast’s largest collections of azaleas, camellias, roses and rhododendrons.
The Plan: We will meet at the Virginia Beach Central Library at 8:30 am. PLEASE be on time! This is a guided program and therefore we will not have time to “hang out” and wait on late comers.
We will be participating in a guided boat tour highlighting the plants and wildlife around Lake Whitehurst followed by a tram tour featuring the Bicentennial Rose Garden or highlighting the nesting pair of bald eagles. (Or which ever gardens we have an interest in).
The Cost per person is $9. This must be paid in full, in cash at the time of the event.
**No dogs are allowed for this event! (Sorry, Botanical Garden rule, not mine)**
There is a café that we can stop for lunch at, or we could find somewhere else (outside the garden) to have lunch, if there is interest.
