**We're currently recruiting outings leaders. If you're interested, please contact the Organizer.**
The Sierra Club is the oldest and largest grassroots environmental organization in the United States. It was founded on May 28, 1892 in San Francisco, California by the well-known conservationist and preservationist John Muir, who became its first president. The Sierra Club has hundreds of thousands of members in chapters located throughout the US. The Chesapeake Bay Group serves the cities of Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk and Virginia Beach, and the counties of Accomack and Northampton on Virginia's Eastern Shore.
It is not required that you be a Sierra Club member to participate in outings. They are open to the public. To participate you will be asked to sign a liability waiver at the start of each event.
This meetup group was created as a supplement to the Chesapeake Bay Group Sierra Club. The purpose of this group is to have an organized way of communicated about outings. This page will be updated will all the information pertaining to outings and will provide an easy way for members interested in outings to stay informed.
Not only are you able to get information about events, but you will also be able to post photos and comments about the outings once they are complete.
