Help support your MeetupChip in
This is a group for anyone interested in hiking, running, camping, horseback riding, kayaking, bike riding, walking your dog or a shelter dog, and exploring new outdoor areas by finding outdoor treasures with Goecaching, etc. All skills levels are welcome and suggestions for future events are encouraged. I started this group to meet other outdoor enthusiasts that enjoy and appreciate the outdoors, nature, and to have an environment to exercise and socialize not only our own dogs but dogs that are less fortunate and are in the local shelters
We have partnered with several local state parks and private organizations to help clean shore lines, clear hiking trails, and wild life preservation and awareness.
We also have a partnership/sponsorship with the local Human Society to walk rescued dogs during our hikes. One purpose of this group is to create a network of people who would like to help make a difference in helping dogs get exercise, socialization, and eventually adoption. Our goal is to spend some time improving the lives of some beautiful, loving, but homeless dogs and help the general public see them in a natural setting versus in the shelter. We hope to set up a number of meetups in which we will be taking dogs to hiking events in the area, and getting them exposure for finding their "forever" home.
This group is based on believe in benefits of physical exercise, healthy life style, and socialization to physical and emotional healthy, productivity, and overall wellbeing. So allocate some time out of your busy schedules and join us have some fun game/exercises, make some friends, learn something new, and have some great time refreshing and recharging!
How about joining us for our next hiking or other outdoor adventure? Join in on the fun right now and start making new friendships while you are enjoying the outdoors.
Some of the events that are advertised in this group are also advertised on the 'Harford/Baltimore County Nature Walks with Dogs' meetup group which founder and organizer Jackie has started. We (Jackie and I) have partnered to offer more events for the member’s with diverse levels of hiking and appreciation of nature.
