The Cedar Rapids and MakerSpace, located in the new Science Center building, opened in Fall 2013. The Science Center and MakerSpace is making great progress toward providing a premier MakerSpace for a wide range of individuals and groups eager to work among fellow enthusiasts. Access to tools, equipment, work space, and storage encourages Science Center makers to collaborate within an inviting, inclusive community. We are building a base of community-owned tool spaces for electronics, robotics, 3-D printing, metalworking, woodworking, arts and crafts, CNC tools, digital technology, and design. Continuing STEM education is offered through affordable classes, workshops, and social networking. Going forward, annual events including Maker Faire and workshops will ignite and inspire new ideas. It's a great chance to meet other people who share these interests, and expand your own skills.
