At The risk of being intrusive....
Dave did sound a little grumpy in his response, but I cant say I blame him.

I'd like to say the Following:
    1) Everyone needs to read thier mail instead of just skimming over it....it was very clear where group was going to be. 2) No one needs a weather report or a ton of e-mails about the weather- quit posting stuff about weather by you....there is this really neat thing called and "umbrella, " by the way.

    3) Change your RSVP if youre not going somewhere...dont just post a note. If RSVP is closed - Dave usually leaves a place to send a text.

    4) I personally am greatful that Dave puts so much into this group. Its a great place for people new to area, people finding themselves alone or anyone wanting to get out!!

    Thank-you Dave
(you can send the check to ....LOL just kidding)

Suggestion to those of you who come to events, take them for granted and complain if everything is not the way you want: read Debbie's note, read it again and then, once again.

This was my first meetup. I was expecting 80 plus people from the meetup group to attend. There were only a handful of people sitting in the area from the group. Nobody really chatted with each other. Is that the usual setting?

My original response was not to complain. I merely asked for feedback as to what to expect for these events since Fridays event was my first one. I was very polite in my orginal email. I can imagine its a tough job to coordinate these events - I'm sure you all do it cause you enjoy it. Have a great week.

well, some of us oldtimers don't have smart phones, and when i was there i ran into one of the other CA members. she said that you were there, but i never saw you or anyone else from CA. this has happened to me at several events. it may help to have and identifying flag or something.

I saw you. You walked right by us. This is a festival. It is kind of unreasonable to ask organizers to carry things in. We are already carrying in our chairs. In order to learn about the event, you need to look at a computer or smart phone. Thus members all have access to e-mail. The e-mail I referenced was sent out 6 hours before the event so a smart phone was not necessary. For festivals, we provide a meeting space. If you want to meet there, great. if you want to park your chair somewhere else, that is also fine. The bottom line on posting public festivals is to provide knowledge of a festival that many would not know about otherwise. I guess I could have rented one of the booths they offer for $2,000. For the next festival, we will do that and I will send you the address to send me your check to cover your share of the cost. In the long run, I think members reading an e-mail is more effective

I have parked my chairs on the band plaza just after the stairs behind the blue bunny cart.

Was not sure exactly where you were set up. Sorry I missed meeting the group. I thought that several were up dancing.

Thanks for all the detailed information but unfortunately I didn't get the e-mail that you were behind the blue bunny cart. I was having problems accessing my e-mail on my phone.

Its my 1st celebrate atlanta event. Is this event conductive to single people mid 30s and early 40s?

    June 12, 2013

    • Dave G

this is a festival where they cover part of Ponce with sand and have games, food, vendors, bands, as well as all the surrounding restaurants. It is a good festival for anyone that likes good music, dancing, games, food. If you like any of those, then this is a good fit.

    What about kids?

    June 12, 2013

    • Dave G

very kid friendly. They have the sand, kids meals and pales, a band for kids, rides and games. All that stuff is on Ponce. The more adult stuff is on between ponce and the plaza.

Any advice for someone going their first time to an event?

    June 11, 2013

    • Dave G

You can bring friends. Please add them under the guest tab. I would suggest bringing a chair. We normally set up at the left side at the top of the stairs that lead to the plaza by the band stand.

Thank you for your quick response. Looking forward to it. I haven't been to the beach party in years.
