Pooches on the Patio/The Ridge- Benefiting the Humane Society, a no kill shelter

Come, Sit and Stay awhile at the Pooch on The Porch Party at the Ridge on June 9th and help the homeless animals. The party starts at 4 and goes until 9 PM

Tax deductible donation is $5 at the door.

Dogs are invited but must be on a leash (and good with other dogs)

Dress Your Pet for Fun. Activities for pets will be available.

The Ridge will be providing a special menu of food and drinks with 10% of food and drink proceeds going to the Humane Society of Forsyth County, a No Kill Shelter.

The Ridge was rated the top restaurant in Forsyth County!!!

While dining and enjoying your special time with your pooch you can shop at the Origami Owl table and create your own living locket filled with all the charms that are special to you and your life's events. If you would like to get started sooner, visit http://monicamoen.origamiowl.com/ to see what Origami Owl is all about. You'll love creating your own special locket I am sure!

If you shop on-line before the party, all you have to do during checkout is select the Jewelry Bar [masked]) Humane Society Fundraiser.

Cindy Baker will be donating 25% of all proceeds to the Humane Society for all purchases made that evening and on the website.

We hope to see Celebrate Atlanta members and their pets on the patio at the Ridge on June 9 at 4 pm through 9 pm, all for a great cause.

Good except mother nature wasn't kind. Those things happen. People need to relax and realize no one controls the weather... Even out fearless leader Dave :)

Could have been great if it hadn't gotten rained out....long drive to pull up and find out that it had been rescheduled :(

That is because they did not decide to reschedule until about 5 when it was raining heavily. We did offer members heavily discounted dinner as a consolation for coming up there. That was the best we could do. Weather is simply beyond our control.

Rained out, could not find anyone to check in with when I arrived in a torrential downpour so I gave a donation to the dripping wet Humane Society volunteer and went home. Hope the man who left his dog outside on the porch in the rain while he went inside the restaurant was not one of ours. I'd like to think our members have more class and more humanity towards their pets.

We actually had quite a few members in the restaurant (22 plus) as well as some of you who texted me that you were in your cars in the parking lot but going home. Then we had members like you and Debbie who were there before me but left before I got there. Thus attendance was surprisingly high considering the storms. I do not know who left the dog out. Please remember that state law does not allow dogs inside a restaurant except for licensed medically necessary (seeing eye dog, etc.) dogs. When it rained, I saw most dogs in the covered area between the patio and the entrance to the dance floor, not out in the rain. In any event, I hope those who stuck it out enjoyed our discounted dinner. One thing I learned in doing this is rather then complain about things you do not control, just do the best with the situation. In this case we improvised and offered members heavily discounted dinner.

Looking forward to this event. I will be bringing my dog, Ellie. I got her from the Forsyth County Humane Society 7 years ago. She was a 11/2 year old young adult. Can't wait for you to meet her. She is a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix.

I have a large adopted Rotweiller and she won't promise not to eat the small, medium and large dogs with or without Bearnaise so she will stay at home. She's my third Rotweiller and the first that was not friendly with other dogs. Looking forward to seeing all the pooches!

I named my dog "Rottie" since Dekalb Animal Services doesn't give names to dogs they mostly kill nor do they provide a history. He was surprisingly loving and obedient from day one. He would readily eat smaller dogs who displease him but understands he should not.
