Brookwood Grill - Piano Bar & Patio Martini Happy Hour - free food for Members

Join Celebrate Atlanta for another high end happy hour at the Brookwood Grill.  Pull up a seat at the piano, request a song and sing along.  Enjoy the beautiful patio. How about some delicious food. Brookwood Grill will be providing Celebrate Atlanta a special menu designed specifically for our members.  The food is provided to members free of charge. Of course, for a full meal, the extensive menu is also available in the Piano Bar area.  To top it off, we will have a long list of $5 martinis.

The free menu for Celebrate will be:

Spinach Artichoke Dip which is served warm with Tortilla Chips, Salsa, and Sour Cream

Baked Ziti with meatballs

This will not be what some like to call passed around appetizers (code for limited and deep fried).  There will be plenty for all.

$5 MARTINIS

Skinny Martini - Vodka, Fresh Lime juice, Splash of Cranberry

Peach Martini - Vodka, Peach liquor, Orange Juice

Cosmopolitan Martini - Vodka, Triple Sec. Splash of Cranberry

Apple Martini - Vodka, Sour Apple Schnapps, Splash of Sour

Lemon Drop Martini - Vodka, Triple Sec, Splash of Sour

Sunset Martini - Vodka, Triple Sec, Splash of Pineapple and Cranberry

French Martini - Vodka, Raspberry liquor, Splash of Pineapple

Margatini - Gold Tequila, Triple Sec, Lemon-Lime Sour

Zagat gives Brookwood Grill a great review:

FOOD 23

DECOR 21

SERVICE

Zagat says -The “menu seldom changes and neither does the clientele” at this longtime Roswell American that “hits the nail on the head” when it comes to “dependable”, “something-for-everyone” dining overseen by a “welcoming” staff; “intimate” booths allow social types to “actually talk”, though party animals are pumped by the “active scene” in the piano bar where the “entertainment is great” but the “singing drunk patrons are better.”

The only thing that Celebrate will be changing is the cost.  $5 Martinis and free food equals great food, drink and a great deal. So join us for another sophisticated happy hour as we enjoy great music, great food, great drinks and most importantly, the company of great friends.

Dave, If your ex-wife would stop showing up at the meetups, you wouldn't have that one person complaining. Next time we'll have the piano man play a song for them. Na Na Na Na Hey Hey Hey Goodbye! Another great meetup.

Hmmmm. I just can't picture this in my mind. Cheap and complainer are simply not words I would ever associate with my ex. She is the definition of charming N.C. born southern belle which is ironic since she hates Atlanta and I am the son of a bitch who accepted a transfer from her beloved Texas. I don't recall if I ever heard her curse in public. Now when trying to get kids to school or when she was mad at me, that was another thing.

Thanks to everyone for coming out. To the person who was complaining to me that by forcing a tip of 20% on members I was costing them an extra money in tips, good news. We will adjust your bill to a 15% tip as long as you pay the regular price of the two martinis you had. The regular price is $7 and a 15% tip would be $1.05 per drink with tax on $14 (two drinks) of .98. A 20% tip on $5 is $1 so for two drinks it would be $10 plus $2 in tip and .70 in tax. Therefore, by reducing your tip to 15% as you wanted, you owe $4.33 more than you paid last night. I will get it from you next time I see you and give it to Brookwood Grill. I hope that satisfies you now that you are not overtipping as you claim.

Oh bummer. I guess the wait staff can eat off the riches. Those needing bankruptcy forms, let me know.

Who ate all the meat balls?

    September 6, 2013

    • Dave G

What happened was the same thing that always happens with free food (and why I am not a fan of free food). Members were taking them 5 at a time, eating two, getting full, and putting the rest down to be thrown out with the 3rd plate of ziti they also did not eat.

      2 · September 6, 2013

    • Dave G

We will adjust this next time by simply eliminating the meatballs.

Just a reminder that the cancelation deadline is 4:30. Additionally, since spots are open and not taken, I will be eliminating the wait list in a while. Please note that walk-in's will be removed from the Metropolitan Club event if they are signed up for that event. We expect members to be signed up if they attend tonight.

I didn't realize when I signed up for this event that it was Rosh Hashanah... therefore I will not be able to attend as I will be with family/friends in observance of the holiday. Y'all have fun and hopefully I will be able to make the next one!!!

    September 3, 2013

    • Dave G

Actually I posted it on the 5th to avoid posting an event on the first night of Rosh Hashanah. Guess it is a good thing we did not choose to serve ham sandwiches.

      2 · September 3, 2013

  • Barbara G.

I was number 5 on the waiting list 8 days ago and received an e-mail that spots are now available. Can you please confIRm that I am now confirmed for attending this event?

    September 3, 2013

    • Dave G

The wait list does not have an order. When someone changes to not going, everyone on the wait list gets the same message you received. The first one to change to going, gets the spot. It is pretty simple to know if you are on the going list. Just look to the right of the comments and see if you are on the going or the wait list. Additionally, if you are on the going list, the e-mails about openings would stop. In any event, the message you received DOES NOT place you into the event. You must go to the web page and change to going (two steps). If you cannot change to going when you go to the website, that means somoene else took the open spot. Usually, we have a turnover of 25% or so. The only caveat is that I will eventually lower the cap and the final cap will be weather dependent (can we use the patio).

      September 3, 2013

  • Linda C.

I keep receiving emails stating there are openings however, I don't see where I change my RSVP to going instead of being on the waitlist?

    September 2, 2013

  • Sheila

yea...thanks for the change from "wait list" to the "real list"! looking forward to seeing everyone. this will be my first time there.

    September 2, 2013

my email says there is a spot for me. I would like to take it. how? I still see "wait list".

    September 2, 2013
