 About Adele's

Have a craving for some good old Cajun cooking, but don’t have the money for a trip out to the bayou? You are in luck because Georgia is blessed to have one of the most authentic New Orleans inspired restaurants you will find outside the state of Louisiana. Adele’s Authentic Cajun Experience brings you down home southern cooking with Cajun ingredients and seasoning, all shipped in fresh daily from New Orleans and the surrounding area.

You can’t talk about New Orleans cuisine without mentioning the Po-boy, and boy does Adele’s do them right! Customer after customer all share the same sentiment no matter which variation of the sandwich they get you are bound to hear it’s the best Po-boy in the state. From the oyster, or shrimp Po-boy to the hot sausage Po-boy it doesn’t matter they are all finger licking good. If Po-boys aren’t your style they have many other glorious Cajun options. The signature seafood gumbo and the Rajun Cajun Jambalaya are also must orders and crowd favorites among the loyal customer base Adele’s has built over the past few years.

If you are as the Cajuns say “Laissez les bon temps rouler”, which means ready to the let the good times roll, Adele’s also offers a very diverse and extensive wine selection which pairs perfectly with some of their seafood specialties such as the soft shell crab or the oysters. While letting the good times roll, take a peek inside Adele’s open kitchen and catch a glimpse of the masters effortlessly preparing the Cajun inspired dishes.

Please note that food is served until 8 pm!!!!!!.

Wine Tasting:

Thanks to Jim Proctor of Fine Wine Events (and a member of Celebrate Atlanta), and Lynn Lopiano for our selection of wine.

Our wine selections for this evening will be:

Bougrier Loire Sauvignon Blanc 2012- Loire Valley, France - This Sauvignon Blanc is a light bodied wine with citrus flavors and undertones of flint and apple blossoms.  It has a clean crisp finish to make it a wonderful pairing with shellfish or poached seafood.

Located along the right bank of the Loire River, the Vouvray region is situated on top of a plateau that is dissected by small streams and tributaries of the Loire.  Wine making in the Vouvray region was thought to have begun sometime in the 9th century.  The climate in the Vouvray region dictates wine production with vintage variation changing due to climate shifts.  Cooler climate years shift the production towards drier styles of wine including sparkling Vouvray.  Warmer climate years promote the production of sweeter, dessert style wines.

Louis Bouillot Perle d'Aurore Rose - 91 Points Burgundy, France - An elegent, sparkling wine made in the traditional method using pinot noir grapes.  This sophisticated rose made using the Champagne method is a pale rose in color with a medium body and fine bubbles.  The bouquet and palate feature cherry and strawberry notes with a dry creamy finish.  Excellent with salmon, shrimp and lobster.  This is an affordable yet sophisticated rose that will surely be a favorite!

Muirwood Cabernet 2010 - Napa Valley, California - Produced in Napa by the Zaninovich family, owners of Arroyo Seco Vineyards (ASV) and Round Hill, one of the largest wineries and grape growing operations in California.  Winemaker Phil Franscioni is an expert at producing great values from the Central Coast in California.  His expert touch in the production of this wine makes it a stand-out for the price point.

Porta Cabernet Gran Reserva 2010 - Aconcagua Valley, Chile - This full-bodied Chilean Cabernet is intense and enticing!  The deep red color of this Cabernet Sauvignon draws you into its seductive aromas of dark fruit, spices and chocolate.  The concentrated fruit flavors on the palate release a long and persistent finish.  It is an intense, full-bodied wine to pair with filet mignon, prime rib, and heavier pasta dishes.  An excellent price point for such a lush, full-bodied wine.  Salud!

Jean Marie Arnoix Vacqueyras 2009 - 93 Points- Rhone, France  The Vacqueyras wine is produced from some of the estates oldest vines with a blend of 70% Grenache, 25% Syrah and 5% Mourvedre.  A dark, dense red-purple wine with a blend of blackberry, cherry, pepper, and spicy vanilla.  Full bodied and slightly chewy with a nice finish.  It was aged in foudres and bottled without fining or filtration.  A deliciously complex wine and at 93 points amazingly affordable for the exceptional quality.  Pair with firm cheeses, pasta dishes and beef.  A little on the pricier side for everyday enjoyment, but still within reach for those special occasions!

Your food selections:

Trio of Crustini - Shrimp Creole, Sausage & Sweet Onion, Spice Chicken

Risotto Ball - cilantro and pepper jack cheese filled risotto ball Pablano Breaded with fire roasted salsa

Assorted Fresh Cheeses & fruits

Our chef's will be present to discuss the art of Cajun/Creole cooking.

Please note that food is served until 8 pm.

Please note that City Antiques closes its doors to the public at 6:00 P.M.  This is a private event being held after hours for Celebrate Atlanta. No walk-in's will be allowed.  To enter, you must be on the "going" list.  No exceptions.

I have no doubt that many go to Johnny's to dance or because they love to go to the dry cleaners with smoke filled clothes the next day. Here is an easy test to see if you are talking to a gentleman or a jerk. Ask him to let you see his car and see if he has a clean pillow in it. Afterall, if you are talking to a gentleman, he certainly wants to provide for comfort. Thus he has the pillow handy so your head is not constantly slamming up against the window or door handles. Okay, before you start flaming me, I am just kidding, sort of. Happy Birthday, Betty and to the other members who had a birthday. Congrats to Steve and Jean. Thanks to Lynn, Jim, Amy, Barb and Robin for hosting. Lynn; As a gesture of good will and for your hard work, I am certainly willing to help you clean the 80 or so glasses. I just checked my schedule and I am busy for the next 5 years but if you can wait until December 16, 2018.
