Here is a picture from one of our past Christmas parties, which explains why Santa is so jolly.  In fact after seeing this picture I said to myself, why did you toil all those years in law school when the rewards appear so much better by graduating from Santa School. In any event, if you want to be as happy as Santa was when this picture was taken, come to our Dixie Dance Party.  Can anyone say theater scene in diner?

Drinks- need a drink?  How about $3 domestic beer, $4 imports, $4 house wine and $5 well drinks. Soda and bottled water also available for $2

Dancing to the best DJ in Atlanta, Jeff.  As our members have discovered, Jeff is one of the best DJ's in the Southeast.  When Jeff is playing tunes, the dance floor stays packed from the first song until the fat lady sings.

Dress is Holiday Dressy

First off I want to say I had a great time at the dance and the music was right on.....Thank you so much Dave for all your help and for being so fast to respond to the situation....There is no way I can thank Rodger enough for all he did..He stepped up a guy I had only met once before..Me and Diana were stranded over an hour from home with no coat.. our money in the car , no clothes ,and locked out my car..He stayed with us the entire time, drove us around..Shared his dress shirt with me so I didn't freeze. fed us and was a total gentleman and straight up calm fun man to be with the entire time..He paid the locksmith $200 to get me a new key,,and this was after spending 20 hours straight with me during this time and missing his football time on Sunday for me...Long story short I now owe him some dates he said..HAHa I would of dated him anyway so a win win for me...There are blessings in every situation you just have to look for them... Thank you everyone for your well wishes ..

The dance was fun. Very sorry about what happened with the coats. Thanks to Dave and everyone about taking care of the situation. I thought about wearing a nice coat, but now I'm happy I didn't. Guess everyone will need to be more cautious in the future.

Folks, I do not want to belabor this conversation but I feel that a "heads up" is in order (many of you know about what I am going to say). We have been very lucky until now that there have been no incidents like the problem the other night. However, what happened is not that rare. So, be careful where you put your coats, hopefully close to friends (and not the door), especially at large events. And ladies, try not to carry your purses into these events. If possible, just take what you need and hopefully you have pockets. I never leave my keys in a coat, always on my person. This time of year, unfortunately, is a time to be very careful. And this has nothing to do with CB, it's just the way it is.

The biggest issue we have had is non payment of bills. This as caused the loss of two venues. Since then, I have the venues put your name on your bill, thus we know who did not pay. Depending on the size of the bill, I will contact the person and give them a few days to go back and pay. I go by the assumption that they forgot but if they do not go back and pay, it will be and has been dealt with. This is the first time, I have dealt with the issue of property. Luckily, the hotel camera records record a 30 day period so if we want, we can look at the video.

Both coats were just located, abandoned in the stairwell of the hotel next door (owned by the same people. Unfortunately, the young lady who had her keys in the coat, had to have a locksmith make a new key for $200 prior to the coats being located. She is finally now able to go back home. As to Kelly's coat, I am going to East Cobb tonight and then going to the Botanical Gardens, thus I will be in East Cobb around 6 and should be back there between 9 and 10 pm. If you are close to the Holiday Inn and can pick it up, great. If you want me to pick it up and you can meet me in East Cobb (if you are in that area), I can do that. Let me know what works best for you. I have asked for the hotel to determine who stayed at the other hotel last night and check the cameras. The coats should never have been taken and then to drop them in a stairwell is pathetic but at least they were found.

Excellent! Can't believe someone would do such a thing.

I sure hope you grind them up and use them as compost, but second thought they might kill what ever you put them on!

It will be sad to find out that someone who attended the dance took the coats and dumped them somewhere else. If they did, they are lowest of the the scumbags out there. These people should look in the mirror and see that they are the worms on a dead animal. We are matured adults who shouldn't be doing such as thing. This is my opinion and only mine. If someone don't like what I said can kiss you know where and when you see me tell me in my face or just keep your words to yourself.

Dave, if and when you find out who did it. Have them arrested! If it was a mistake why don't they just say that. I feel for these two individuals whose coats were taken.

Last night I was truly saddened that anyone would sink so low as to steal belongings...and then I brought myself back to the state our world is in and realized it happens much too often. Although I don't know Kelly or the other coat owner personally, I have noticed that Kelly has a smile for everyone....male and female. I don't know the feasibility of my suggestion, but if its possible, I suggest that we put a collection jar at our Jingle Mingle. If just 200 of us give a dollar, she will be reimbursed for the locksmith. If we collect more, we can donate the rest to Toys for Tots drive. If legally this isn't possible, I personally want to contribute to Kelly's loss.

This is a message to all members who attended the dance at the Holiday Inn tonight. We have two coats that are missing. One coat is a Pea Coat and has car keys, lipstick and glasses in a pocket. Suffice it to say, the owner of the coat cannot drive home because someone has her jacket with keys in it. She lives far south of town. If you inadvertantly took this coat (just look in the pocket and if you have car keys, lipstick and glasses, you have her coat) we need it returned immediately. Please call[masked]-2541.

We also have a leather jacket missing. Again, if you have this coat, please contact me at[masked]-8477.

    Thanks

Another great event, thank you Dave, Jeff and all your assistants for all you do!!! But how terrible for these two ladies that someone walked off with their coats! I hope the mistake has been realized and steps being made to return them! :-(

This is a message to those who tell me they are intimidated by large events. Here is a conversation I have over and over again. The person saying this has not really thought out how weird what they are saying sounds.
Member - I do not like the huge events. They are intimidating. I end up sitting at a table of 8 to 10 people I do not know and that is uncomfortable. I prefer the small events where I can sit at a table of 8 to 10 members I do not know and get to know them. My response to this conversation is always the same. "Well it was nice talking to you, but I am due back on earth. How about looking at the same thing in a positive light. Sitting at a table of 8 to 10 in an event of 300 is not really different than sitting at a table of 8 - 10 where the event has 10 people. The only difference is that in the event of 8-10, you are stuck at that table. In the larger event, if you end up at a table stuck with someone who defines the term "moron", you can move

I just want to make sure it is OK to bring a guest to this event??

    November 25, 2013

    • Dave G

It is okay as long as you list them as a guest. If you bring a guest who is not listed, I am afraid that group rules requires us to grind them up and sell them as compost.

    • Eleanor

Too funny! I do have a guest listed so you will be one bag short of compost. :)
