The Revelers
The Revelers is a new Cajun band, composed of old Cajun friends. They played for us at Garden Hills in May of this year, and people haven’t stopped talking about them since. Founded by members of Pine Leaf Boys and Red Stick Ramblers, these musicians are some of Louisiana’s best. Their “contagious approach and danceable rhythms” are making music and dance lovers alike stand up and take notice. Hollywood has noticed too – they were on the 2011 season finale of Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations, and were the featured musicians for the third season of HBO’s Treme. We’ve seen some of these musicians before: Blake Miller (fiddle & accordion) has been to Atlanta with Les Malfecteurs, Balfa Toujours, and with Cedric Watson et Bijou Creole. Daniel Coolik (fiddle & guitar) is from Atlanta, and was featured a couple of years ago at David Greeley’s Fiddlers on the Bayou program. We are SO excited that The Revelers will be here for us to start off the holiday season! For more about the band, see http://revelersband.com/ .

Thanks Steve for your message. If you are coming tonight don't forget to wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Be in the building by 7 so I can get you in the lesson. You can park at any of the offices across the street or next to the venue except NOT the liquor store or Mexican restaurant. Awesome band tonight. $14 cash and cash bar and food available. You'll be burning some calories tonight. See you on the dance floor.

I've been going to Cajun dance at the KOC for about 14 years! This is a fun place with laid back people, upbeat energetic music and great Cajun food. Come for the lesson, which will probably be Cajun Two Step, an easy dance to learn. Parking can be a problem, so come early or else you'll have to park across the street (but not at the Mexican restaurant), or north a block at the real-estate place.

Sorry, but I have come down with a cold and will not be able to go to the dance. You will have a lot of fun at the dance. I will have to postpone until the next meetup at the dance.
