The Revelers is a new Cajun band, composed of old Cajun friends. They played for us at Garden Hills in May of this year, and people haven’t stopped talking about them since. Founded by members of Pine Leaf Boys and Red Stick Ramblers, these musicians are some of Louisiana’s best. Their “contagious approach and danceable rhythms” are making music and dance lovers alike stand up and take notice. Hollywood has noticed too – they were on the 2011 season finale of Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations, and were the featured musicians for the third season of HBO’s Treme. We’ve seen some of these musicians before: Blake Miller (fiddle & accordion) has been to Atlanta with Les Malfecteurs, Balfa Toujours, and with Cedric Watson et Bijou Creole. Daniel Coolik (fiddle & guitar) is from Atlanta, and was featured a couple of years ago at David Greeley’s Fiddlers on the Bayou program. We are SO excited that The Revelers will be here for us to start off the holiday season! For more about the band, see http://revelersband.com/ .
