Dance Party at Wild Bills featuring the Fly Betty Band-food & drink specials

Celebrate Atlanta teams up with Wild Bills in Duluth to present The Fly Betty Band in another night of dancing, socializing, wining and dining.  No cover for Celebrate members (who are signed up). What a great way to get 2014 off to a dancing start.

Join Celebrate Atlanta for another dance party featuring the great Fly Betty Band.  This time, let's dance, eat, drink and socialize at Wild Bills in Duluth.  Admission is normally $5 but Celebrate Members (signed up) get in free.  Walk-in's and non members will pay the full price.  We will also have 1/2 price appetizers and drink specials, again specifically for members that are signed up.

Wild Bills presents a multi-level dance floor with a huge amount of space.  Let's fill it up to the sounds of one of our favorite band, The Fly Betty Band.

1/2 price appetizers (name tag required, must be signed up to attend):

Nachos $3.25

Chips & Salsa $2.50

Cheese Sticks (small-4) $1.50, (large - 8) $3

French Fries Basket $2

Quesadilla - chicken $3.50, cheese $2.50

Drink Specials: (While I already have the drink specials, by agreement with Wild Bills, the specials will be posted the day of the event. This is done in conformance with Wild Bill's liquor license.)

    TO ALL,
Please forgive me for hijacking the news feed of our Wild Bill event but I truly didn’t know of another media for reaching out to my entire "Celebrate Atlanta Family"!!

    IT’S TONIGHT:
Does anyone have a recommendation for a “Great Sports Bar” to enjoy our last and possibly the best College Game of the Season?

The stage is set for -- “No. 1 Florida State going head-to-head with No. 2 Auburn” on ESPN starting at 8:30pm.

    GO NOLES!

If you want a big dance floor maybe try Electric Cowboys in Kennesaw? However, it would be DJ and country music.

    1 · January 6, 2014

    • Steve

Yes, nice big dance floor. EC plays great country music for dancing. Later in the evening they mix pop in.

I thought the small room we were in was way way too small for our group. Even though the band was very good, they could have toned it down. Ears are still ringing. No wait staff for tables, what few there was. Check in people were sitting in a icebox. The main ballroom was closed to us. I hope that if we go there again, the main ballroom can be opened to us.

    3 · January 5, 2014

    • Steve

Dave, I don't agree that the main room would look empty. I've been to WB's plenty of times on Wednesday night. There is usually a crowd of about 100 or less. They sit at the tables next to the dance floor and most of the people are on the dance floor. Of course the tables at the upper levels are vacant and it's ghost town up there - except fpr a few that want to get away fromthe "crowd". It works out well even though the place is no where near capacity. I think a crowd of[masked] would fill the lower area nicely and the dance floor would be more than adaquate. If a group of[masked] members were able to utilize this area, I think it would be a very nice experience having a spacious dance floor, plenty of room to mingle without the feeling that the place is empty.

Steve, well said and I totally agree. It was a "good" venue and a great band. However, 400+ people was enough to justify the use of the larger ballroom. The dance floor there is great; you would not have been right on top of the music and would have had a better choice for seating. I helped Jeff get Atlanta Dance started. If anyone thinks this is a complaint, it is an analysis, just like David N. & Steve above.

I want to thank Theresa and Jerry for putting this event together and hosting along with Tre, Rose and Norm. It was quite chilly in the foyer, yet they stayed there to get members checked in. The attendance count at 11 pm when I left was 426 and people were still coming in (yes I saw you Karen). Nice crowd, dancing up a storm and we were able to get rid of the complainers early on as they were too cool to have fun. Again, thanks to all who came out and made the most of the environs. The place reminded me of places I used to go in college. You know the place where it is dark, you ask a woman to dance, you spend the night dancing and talking and then you ask her out for breakfast. Then they turn the lights on and you gasp (or scream) when you actually see who you spent the night dancing and talking to. Then you spend the next ten minutes trying to figure how to get out of taking her for breakfast and wondering why you spent the night dancing with the understudy for godzilla.

You crack me up Dave... I heard about your name tag sorry I missed it... :) Thanks so much Theresa and Jerry I know all that I talked to and hung with had a blast... Lot's of people stayed right to end.. Could not walk today very well, but it was worth it... Love dancing with a fun crowd.... Thanks again to all for working so hard to make this happen...

Any fun dance venue is always great, complainers stay home.
I am a very positive person, if you can't say something nice say nothing at all.

I agree. It was exactly as advertised and actually better than my expectation! All the Debby Downer whiners should organize their own event or enjoy what they have. My favorite part is the social aspect , talking, interacting, meeting new people. I met 5 new people, and had 3 others talk with me that remembered me from the NYE's party! I focus on the fun social aspect and the people i get to enjoy. All the complainers are focused on material measurements of the already existimg, as advertised lomgstanding venue. I.e. too small dance floor, too loud, too dark, etc. AND ITS SUPPOSED TO BE!!!

      1 · January 5, 2014

Amen to that.. Can't please everyone.. I do believe the majority of us had a great time... Thanks to all that made this possible..

Another great event from the CA team. The venue reminded me of the kind of music clubs I used to frequent back in the day, such as the B & L Warehouse in Athens and Studio 19 in Clearwater FL. Thanks to Dave and all of the CA hosts and to all of the lovely ladies I was fortunate enough to dance and spend time with. Looking forward to the next CA adventure!

With so much going on, I just realized that I forgot to go back to the table to get officially recognized for attending last night. I was one of the first there and got my name tag. I can give you names of people I saw there, who can vouch for me, if needed.

I usually don't post comments about events but this one I have to.
If you cancelled, you missed a great event! This is by far one of the best ones I've attended. I want to thank those who put this one together. Great venue and a great dance party band! The Fly Betty Band had the floor packed the whole time.
I also want to thank Joe Moss for wearing that flashing glow ring. I had a little too much to drink last night and if it weren't for that flashing glow ring, I would have never found my way to the dance floor. Thanks Joe!

We had so much room to dance, I never saw so many people dancing at one of our events. Oh I forgot, our so called "real dancers" did not find the environs friendly. Get over yourselves. To put things in perspective, I brought Chita Rivera to Wild Bill's last night and pointed out our real dancers and asked her what she thought. Never did get an answer. She was laughing too hard. Some of our so called "real dancers" are very nice to talk to but do you realize how silly and boorish you sound when you start talking like a dancer whose shit doesn't stink? Hate to tell you but I noticed that when you went to the bathroom last night, a bunch of people came out holding their noses saying P.U. and 'Light a Match." I thought the atmosphere was electric and yes the band was loud. It was supposed to be. It is a concert venue. In any event, I thought Wild Bill's was a venue definitely worth repeating and if our "real dancers" go elsewhere my reaction will be "yawn."

Oh Man !! what a PARTY!! going to give this one 7 Stars I had a blast !! Fly Betty Rocked !! the house !! took me back to my late teens, early 20's reminded me of places I use to frequent back in the early 80's with the band and the club feel it had to it, thanks to CA and WB"s for this event

Had a great time. Was hoping to be in the bigger room with larger dance floor and more seating but the room we were did not stop people from dancing. Fly Betty keeps the dance music going and people's feet moving. Let's go here again but maybe have a few adjustments. Thank you all for organizing and hosting.

Wild Bill's has an awesome dance floor! It's probably the largest dance floor in ATL. The sound system is great. There is no smoking in WB's! The whole place is pretty decent. This will be a fun time!

The Crown room is the second stage behind the main stage, holds about 500 people, whereas the main stage and dance floor holds about 4500 more people. There is a separate bar in the Crown room.

Yes, you are right. Why that AC DC cover band that played there could easily be mistaken for Willie Nelson.

      January 4, 2014

  • Steve

So....... Fly Betty Band plays some country? OK, who knows how to 2-Step?

    January 4, 2014

    • Dave G

In the early 80's I was a regular at Cowboys, a high end country western club in the Galleria in Houston for the grey poupon cowboys, San Antonio Rose, a tad lower step where the women only were divorced three times and even stepped way down to Gilley's in Pasadena, Texas, where you had to prove you were divorced by 15 to get in and people used a can of oil as a sex lubricant. You know why they dance the two step? Otherwise the schools would have had to teach students to count to three.

You do not need to post a comment. We do not know why 5,000 plus have not signed up so why do we need to know why anyone changes to not going unless you think it important. If so, let me know and I will ask all those who did not sign up to let you know why they did not sign up.

Do we know where the band will be playing.. Are they playing in the room with the big dance floor or in the side room?

    December 30, 2013

    • Dave G

I am not sure which room but I know we do not even reach any issues on attendance until we reach more than 400, which we will not reach so we will have plenty of room to dance.

      January 2, 2014

    • Maryann D.

Wild Bills just emailed me that it will be in the Crowne Lounge. Going to be celebrating my brothers 50th that night so I wanted to make sure there was enough room... I am so looking forward to a fun night.. Love the Celebrate Atlanta crowd at Fly Betty nights.. They sure know how to dance... Always so much fun... Great way to ring in 2014... Thanks Dave for putting this together.. I know the band is excited to be playing for the group again... :)
