Celebrate Atlanta White Elephant Gift Party at the Diner at Northpoint

Join Celebrate Atlanta for a White Elephant Gift Party at The Diner at Northpoint, sister restaurant to Sage and Spice.  The Diner at Northpoint offers a mixture of upscale dining choices as well as comfort food.  Of course, they also have a large selection of desserts which is their real connection to the term diner.  This is not Food Network, diner and dive but an upscale dining experience.

Of course, since this is December 19,  we will have an optional white elephant gift exchange.

As to the food at The Diner at Northpoint, the reviews are impressive.  One diner writes:

"We met here for happy hour and appetizers. The bartender was friendly and gave great service. The appetizers were very good as well. This isn't your typical chrome diner, but rather a more intimate setting. It still has the awesome desserts, and wonderful smells from the kitchen, just more upscale"

While we enjoy our white elephant gift exchange, drinks and great conversation, members will enjoy the following discounted dishes (name tag required).

I too enjoyed it. Our waiter was working very hard and doing his best. He did well to handle a crowd of our size, even if the service was slow. Hopefully he was tipped well for his efforts. Look at it this way--you could have gotten the gift I ended up with!

Thank you Barb for helping with this. You're a sweetheart! People like you help make CA a success.

Thanks to all who came out last night and participated in the White Elephant gift exchange. It was very entertaining. Sorry about the service issues. This time of year, restaurants are packed, especially around a mall. These are social events and sometimes things go wrong and just take the extra time to do what we are there for, socialize. Thanks to Amy who saved the day. She got there early and got everything going. Thanks to Barb. You might have seen free brucheta on your table. Barb paid for those to try to make up for the delay in service. Thanks to all of you for giving me some good laughs. The fun thing about White Elephant gift exchanges is it leads to some people receiving mismatched gifts. By that I mean a gift that is perfectly fine but does not fit the recipient. Wathcing them begging people to steal the gift was hilarious. By the way, if you received a mismatched gift, remember, on Thursday, we have our gift exchange luncheon at Pure in Roswell.

It was me Sherry and I saw you clutching it all night. If only they had felt how soft it was. LOL. Enjoy.

Something you don't want so you pass it on to someone else....could be just right for them.

It is not a re-gifting. We do have a re-gifting lunch on the 26th at Pure (not posted yet). It is a gift exchange with a twist in that other members can "steal" or claim the gift you take. The maximum value is $20.

It depends on the price value set. The last one I attended had a $20 value and we had new items (Xmas serving dishes, gift cards, board games that can only be purchased online, a nice re gift, etc.). Dave, what is your take on this? His last one I attended of Dave's, I "stole" his new bottle of Kahlua!

I think a white elephant gift exchange is a re- gift or gifts bought at the dollar store, all for fun, am I right?

    December 12, 2013

  • Sprice

Let me know what the gift will be. Is there a money amount?

Looking forward to this gift swapping and stealing! :-)
