As to Firenze, all I can say ins Holy Risotto!  Shrimp and Scallop Risotto for just $9.50??   Firenze an upscale Italian Bistro is in Norcross (same shopping center as Nemoes). Members will enjoy authentic italian cuisine presented by Chef Andrea Montobbio, a native of Capriata d'Orba, in Northern Italy, where a passion for food is a hallmark of the culture. Growing up, Montobbio and his family were very involved in wine making and the rural environment that was home provided the freshest of ingredients-from family's garden. It was this early experience with pristine ingredients that ultimately influenced his philosophy about cooking: respect the food - start with quality product -and allow their flavors to permeate the dish. Montobbio's infatuation with food began his culinary education at the Marco Polo School in Genova, upon graduation he moved to Camogli to continue his studies at the Guglielmo Marconi School where he mastered the basics.

Firenze is the best and most authentic Italian food in the area, with a menu that holds its own against some of the best Italian spots known. Thanks to the fact that all of Firenze's pastas, bread, sauces and desserts are all made from scratch, in-house by a chef who was born, raised, fed, and trained in Italy.

The reviews of Firenze are uniform in their praise for both food and ambiance. “We were so pleased with our date night at Firenze! the antipasti appetizer my husband ordered was large and gorgeous. i had the caprese salad. it was not your one small tomato slice with a couple things stacked on top. it was a large, plate full of yummy grilled vegs in addition to the tomatoes and mozzerella! for entrees, my husband had the papardelle with lamb - hearty, epitome of comfort food. i had the blank ink spaghetti. wow. so different and packed with flavor. great portion size for everything in our opinion. don't miss the cheesecake. made with ricotta cheese so it is lighter than traditional and soooo much better. crust is to die for. truly a unique dessert. i want to go back just for that. enjoy!”

    Thanks to David Nunnally for hosting at the last minute so I could go to watch my son in the Centennial Jazz Band concert. When I finally arrived, the patio was the place to be. What a great patio. My food was delish though I probably need to take class in recognizing bread. Perfect size group for the patio. Thanks to all who attended. Oh yeah, sorry to the waitstaff. Several of us essentially closed the place down. I am sure they were thrilled we stayed so late, but the patio was just too nice and relaxing to leave.

    Looks like the weather is going to be great so we will be on the patio. Of course, if you do not want to be outside, feel free to stick around the lounge area inside. With the weather so nice, we decided to expand the menu and add some antipasto (appetizers) to the 1/2 price menu. Take a look at the additions on the write-up.
