Come join Celebrate Atlanta as we once again take time to help the homeless children and families of Atlanta by volunteering with Children's Restoration Network to pack Thanksgiving Dinners for various homeless shelters and group homes in and around the Atlanta area.
Many of the shelters and group homes have very limited budgets and do not have the funds needed to provide a bountiful meal on Thanksgiving Day. In addition to the Thanksgiving meal, we also want to stock their food pantries with the basics, but also with the foods children love to eat for the Holidays.
CRN will be collecting 200+ turkeys with all the trimmings for children living in shelters and group homes and fill their pantries for the Holidays! The items will be delivered to the address below and we the members of Celebrate Atlanta and other volunteers will sort the items and get them ready to go to each shelter or group home.
We will be doing the sorting and distributing of the food at an old Bally’s Fitness location behind the Town Center Prado Shopping Center. The Address is 2600 Prado Lane, Marietta, GA 30066. The location is a separate building behind the shopping Center, just past the Steinmart
This is a great opportunity for you to really share in the true meaning of Thanksgiving. Our group will be assigned various shelters and home and we will then receive a list of items that said shelter or home will need to provide a full and bountiful Thanksgiving dinner for the 2,400 homeless children of Atlanta and their families.
Our members will take the list of items needed and gather them in one spot designated for our assigned shelters. The items will then be packed and eventually the turkeys will be added to the packets and then sent to the Shelters so they can get cooking for the big Thanksgiving dinner.
You can be a part of helping to feed the homeless children of Atlanta on Thanksgiving by coming out on Friday the 16, Saturday the 17th or Sunday the 18th. Come out one of the days or all three. Your assistance will be appreciated whether it is one hour, one day or three days.
This is a kid friendly event and would be a great experience for your children.
