Re: [Celebrate-Atlanta] Removal of No Shows from Titanic 3D - No show policy

I couldn't agree more with everything stated in your e-mail. I would love to attend one of these movie nights, but since these e-mails are always sent out during working hours, I never see them in time to make it. Can we possibly limit guests to one per member, or maybe have it so people who didn't make the last one have first chance at the spots next time? At this rate, I'll never make it to an event. Thank you so much for everything you do for this group. I. in no way, want you to view this as a complaint. I was just making a suggestion that you might take into consideration. I will also understand if this is not possible. Thanks Dave : )

Subject: [Celebrate-Atlanta] Removal of No Shows from Titanic 3D - No show policy

At this point in time, the overall no show rate for the group is 8% (all events aggregated).  That is likely the lowest no show rate of the bigger groups. Thanks to the members for the low no show rate. In the long run, it is the members who benefit from low no show rates.  It gives me a much stronger bargaining positon thus you get better deals.

That said,  I warned that I would remove any no shows from the last Studio Movie Grill movie from future movies.  I completed that process this morning.  No shows from the March 27 showing of the Hunger Games  have been removed from the going and/or wait list of the private screening of Titanic 3D.  This opened some spots so if you were moved from the wait list, that is the reason.  Please note that no shows for Titanic 3D will be removed from future movies at Studio Movie Grill. I also removed a no show from last night's dinner from the Titanic 3D movie.  No shows are subject to removal or being blocked from future events. Continual no shows will lead to a ban from the group (A ban means you can not rejoin once removed).

I negotiate substantial discounts based on projected number of attendees. The vendors need to know how to staff.  Wait list are another reason no shows records are tracked, For Hunger Games, when we started the movie, we still had a wait list of 52.  Despite notice that no shows would be blocked from future movies we still had 22 members no show (with guest included, the  no show count was 46). Actual attendance was 312. The member no show rate was 7% and overall no show rate for that event was 14%.

My intent for this group is to move to some higher end venues.  Since service is paramount with this type of vendorm accurate numers are even more important.  Therefore, I will strictly enforce the no show policy.  Most of you have been quite cooperative and canceled in a timely fashion or texted me when you could not get to a computer. I appreciate that.  However, some people who will be a no show at there own funeral.  To those on the wait lists for events when we have no show, I truly apologize. There is simply no excuse for that to happen.  Again, thanks to the members that have cooperated and adhered to the policy.

Thanks

Dave G
