Voting rights for all

About[masked] adult Berliners are excluded from voting in local elections and plebiscites because they lack German citizenship. That's taxation without representation.

On the day before the EU election, an initiative for extending voting rights to all residents will rally at Tempelhofer Feld and offer a symbolic voting booth. Whatever your nationality, you can cast your symbolic vote there on the Tempelhofer Feld plebiscite and on the EU election. This way you can show your support for universal voting rights.

For more info (in German): http://wahlrechtfueralle.cc or https://www.facebook.com/events/228118457386432

At 1 pm, the voting booth will open with some speeches and photo shoots. A couple of hundred people are expected. We'll meet there at 1 pm (at the entrance to the Feld where Oderstraße and Herrfurthstraße meet). If the weather is nice, we'll have a picnic on the Feld, so you may want to bring some snacks and drinks (which we can also get close by).

At 4 pm, there will be a rally for voting rights.

Hey all: I'll be 10 minutes late. I'm wearing a black t shirt so hopefully that helps to find me.

For which country will they vote if they don't have German citizenship? Should I just support the party that treats china well?

The votes at this event are just symbolic votes, but the outcomes of Berlin or EU politics affect any resident, no matter which citizenship. One of the votes is about the future of the Tempelhofer Feld, which I guess doesn't affect China as much ;-)

Well, any party that supports building Chinese restaurant there, gets my vote
